Onward to Gillman Barracks

Gillman Barracks is just a few bus stops away from Harbourfront MRT Station, Singapore.

We were quite surprised by the layout and walked around blindly and well, tried to break into a few of the galleries (lol). This is the place to be if you are truly into artwork of major artists with the likes of Yayoi Kusama and Hyung Koo Kang.

The galleries are spread wide apart from one another and doing some brisk walking exercises is inevitable, kind of reminds me of the Biennale venue, Old Kallang Airport.

It was near closing time when we arrived and that explains the attempted break-ins. There is also a really cosy Timbre if you fancy some drinks and food while basking in art.

Pameran Poskad

There was a postcard exhibition going on somewhere at the beginning of this month (not too sure, can't really be bothered about the dates anymore). It was an interesting display of postcards by hundreds of artists all over the world including local ones.

Huda's cousin had hers up at the exhibition as well. One of my favourite works was the one with faces painted with watercolour, I thought I've seen the artist's work live on Youtube before. Dyn had his artwork up as well, as usual, well done with his popart, this time it was Wonderwoman.

The exhibition was held at Vidirian Art House which used to be the canteen of River Valley Swimming Pool. Though I miss the mosaic swimming pool tiles, it is a good thing that the building has been conserved and turned into a place for art.

There are 2 galleries in the building with a concept cafe sitting in between them, therefore, Pameran Poskad was split into 2 areas, which, we almost missed the second part. Opening night was too crowded and stuffy, could not quite finish the whole exhibition but we had some good stuff caught on camera.

An Art Hotel

I believe that I am a very boring person. It is amazing how I can just lay in bed at home and do nothing throughout Saturday and Sunday. However when it comes to ART events especially, I get frustrated if the opportunity to get there to view those pieces is robbed from me. I would throw tantrums.

Have been too busy with personal and work life lately but these goodies still have to be posted up.

Welcome to Pullman Hotel, Jakarta.

It was December 2011 and as usual, I had to fly to Jakarta for a short family getaway. A pity that we didn't get to stay here during the trip. I was completely blown away by the main lobby. It was like walking into a modern art gallery. Alright, the pictures shall do the job.
